Stranger in the area

I have been told of a man dressed in black with black hat, grey beard and hair knocking on doors asking the people of the house if their cars, washing machines etc are for sale. It is known that if he gets no answer to a house he is onto him mobile straight away (perhaps calling whoever to notify of empty house). He has been seen looking into cars and peoples windows before knocking on the doors. If you see this man please call the gardai immediatly.
About an hour and a half ago, a man fitting this discription approcahed two boys aged about 11 or 12 in our estate, and offered them some money, the boys ignored him and went into their houses. The mother of one of the boys was advised to call the Gardaí. He was driving a black punto type .

Crime prevention

It has been brought to our attention, that on Friday night, a resident on Alder Walk, caught people red handed trying to rob a bicycle from their front garden. Please be careful what you leave in your garden, and if possible leave nothing out.

Residents please be aware…

Anyone in the area please make sure your doors are locked at night and even the daytime. At aprox 2.40am on Sat/Sun a man was in the extension in the house, (in Boyne View) the owner was watching tv, everyone else was asleep in bed when he heard the kitchen door opening. He thought it was one of the kids coming down for a drink, but no, it was someone after getting into the house. He ran the culprit off and called the Gardai. He was wearing a navy/dark coloured hoodie and lonsdale runners, which he left behind at the front door. So, please be carful and keep your doors locked at all times.

Incident near Duleek

Hi all,

Something for you all to be aware of.

Last Saturday evening an incident occured near Duleek where two men
pretending to be Gardai entered the home of a elderly lady and tried
to rob her of her cash and jewellery. They left empty handed in a dark
coloured car which was not better described. Thank fully she was not
injured but please inform any elderly friends or relations that this
incident occured. Make sure they press their mobile panic buttons if
they feel threatened or press their bogus button before they open the
doors to unknown persons. Please report any suspicious activity to
your local station.

Home security Exhibition in Ardboyne Hotel, Navan 26-11-11 from 11am to 8pm.

Hi All,

In light of the number of burglaries and thefts recently around the county I am putting together a Home Security Exhibition which will be held in the Ardboyne Hotel on Saturday the 26 November 2011 from 11am to 8pm. It is hoped to have a cross section of exhibitors which will cover all aspects of home security. I will have alarm companies, CCTV companies, the new product for marking property Smartwater, fire equipment, electric gates, tracking devices for cars and hopefully laptops, window security etching, door security and grills, locksmiths etc. When I have a complete list I will forward around a list of the exhibitors and what they do.

If anybody is interested in taking part in the exhibition please contact me ASAP as the slots are filling up. If you know of anybody that has a good product and would be of interest in the exhibition please contact them to let them know or pass their details on to me immediately.
