Broadband update Athlumney Wood

At the January meeting of the Navan Municipal District meeting I raised the issue of the lack of broadband for Athlumney Wood due to the fact that the cabinet at the entrance had not yet been enabled.
Today I received the following response from Eir in respect of this issue and I hope that this will see this positively resolved.
“Dear councillor,
A number of issues regarding a Wayleave had to be resolved before permission to proceed could be granted. These issues have now been resolved and Eir’s contractor, KNN, should have the written permission required later this week. Once permission is received, work to erect the Fibre Cabinet will commence, expected to be next week.
All Works, ESB connection, Connecting Fibre cable, Copper Cables and testing should be completed within 3 to 4 weeks.
Fibre powered Broadband should therefore be available in this area by Mid-March

The front of the estate

I’ve got an email from the council, that the front of our estate will be fixed later on.

”Just to keep you up to date regarding the landscaping at the front of your estate. We had our landscaping sub contractor and he has informed us that due to the current wet weather conditions it is not suitable for carrying out the works, as soon as the weather improves he will carry out the works

Meeting about the Community or Resource Centre

A chara

The construction of an educational campus offers an opportunity for a much needed Community or Resource Centre to be constructed in the Johnstown area.

With this in mind I have been in contact with both the Planning and Finance Departments of Meath Co Council. The Planning Department confirmed that lands in the vicinity of the schools are zoned “community development” The Finance Department also confirmed that €100,000 remains in the “Johnstown Fund” for a capital project in the area.

Therefore I am inviting you, members of your residents association and friends to a public meeting this Friday evening in O’Brien’s of Johnstown at 7 30pm.

The purpose of the meeting is to form a broad based, non party committee of Johnstown residents to work For the construction of a new community centre in Johnstown.

Please share this email with anyone who may have an interest in supporting this initiative.

Date – Friday 28th June (this Friday)
Venue – O’Brien’s Johnstown Village
Time – 7 30pm

Please feel free to contact me at any time
